Legislation passed by:

Democrat-Controlled NH House

Big Government Intrusion and Higher Taxes

ó HB 1:  NH State operating budget 17.5% increase over the previous two-year budget.  The first $10 billion budget.  Ignores inflation and Consumer Price Index growth.

ó SB 42:  Prohibiting smoking.  Republicans supported an amendment that would allow businesses to make the decision to go completely smoke free.  Amendment failed.  Most Republicans opposed this bill.  (Made Law)

ó SB 98:   Granting political party access to your private information, including date of birth, voting history, etc. Republicans supported an amendment to allow for an opt out but this amendment was defeated by the Democrats.  (Made Law)

ó SB 235:  2.5 cent per gallon sales tax on milk.  This tax would have hurt traditional families.  This was a new tax. (Tax was removed but passed the House)

ó HB 868:  $40 fee for every page of a mortgage, deed or plat filed. (Inserted in Budget $25 per page up $100)

Nanny State” Mentality - Eroding Parental and Personal Responsibility

ó HB 184:  Repeals the Parental Notification law.  (Law of the Land)

ó HB 519:  Requires children under 12 to wear Personal Flotation Devices

ó HB 802:  Creating a primary offense for non-seat belt use.  (Killed in Senate)

ó SB 226:  Eliminates the requirements of a 50% work participation for Welfare Queens.  Ignores federal mandates.  Will likely result in the loss of millions of federal dollars.  The Republican program would have brought us into federal compliance.  Democrats took out this requirement.  Handout to Democrat constituency.

Ending Traditional New Hampshire Values

Attacking Traditional Families

ó HB 437:  Becoming the 4th state in the country to adopt civil unions.  (Non-homosexuals excluded!)
